Refurbished Laptops?

Hi, has anyone bought a refurbished / laptop refurbished PC World / Currys / Dixons website. They got good deals there and many of them still come with XP or XP Pro / Media Center which is what I prefer do not want vista.

It's just that after reading the announcement stated that all laptops are either inventory liquidation or those that were returned by consumers within 28 days.

I note that Acer, HP's and Phillips are all sold out leaving only the Packard Bell and the future (even now) and Compaq.

I do not want a Packard Bell or Advent as were 2 of their machines before and they were shit shit shit and do not tell me to try Dell. Compaq is no good.

If you want a brand new laptop, then you can get one from Dell. Apple, Toshiba and Acer. Their definition of the refurbishment is a scrstch on the outer surface, a change in specification or a canceled order. I do not recommend Apple because of its pathetic three months, while Dell's warranty, you get the factory warranty for one full year. Try

Do refurbished laptops from Gateway qualify for the free windows 7 upgrade?

I am about to order a refurbished Gateway laptop MD7321U. I checked on the Gateway Web site and said that the MD73 models are eligible, but I'm not sure if being renovated removes eligibility. Gateway FAQ page does not mention anything about either. Does anyone know?

I think Microsoft is going a certain date. I think it's any time after June 28th, 2009. If you bought a laptop and after that, you should be eligible.
