How do you know how a set of powerful binoculars. What does like 8 x 21 mean? If the numbers go up or down that means it is weaker or stronger?

The first is the power (expansion) and the second the diameter of the lens in millimeters.

What are good binoculars anyone can recommend to see for over 10 miles?

I'm going to Arizona on January 3 and I want a good binocular, so that when I see a lot of different distance. I wanted to see and buy 2 pairs of binoculars of 100 or less that can see clearly during the day and possibly overnight.
