Has anyone seen "The Other"--an old movie based on a book by Thomas Tryon?

I know he was old, but I was wondering if Ada has been the nanny the same woman who years later played Magda, the red menace in an episode of "The Golden Girls". Pretty creepy psychological thriller, by the way.

I do not know but the movie was excellent and so was the book.
I have not thought about it in so long! Uta Hagen played Ada but I do not know if it was in Golden Girls.
