Is the sharper image ionic breeze with ionic guard still dangerous?

Some time back, there was a big hype about the ionic breeze produce ozone which is very dangerous for our health. But now they come with these new "guardians of ozone." I thought to buy one for my mom, but of course I would not submit it to ozone. No concrete evidence that these things are safe? Or should I just go with a HEPA filter noisey?

Not even with the catalyst (storage depletion), it still emits significant amounts of ozone.
